The New York City Post in Action

Newly elected Post President, COL John R. Boulé, USA (Ret) stands in the center of a group of West Point Cadets and faculty. The West Point contingent was in attendance at our October 16, 2019 Evening Meeting. (Picture Left)

The Post's Suzanne DiGeronimo served as guest speaker at the Lower Manhattan Historical Association's ceremony at St. Paul's Chapel Cemetery in Lower Manhattan. Details of the event are HERE.

Highlights included J. Ledlie Klosky PhD P.E. professor of Civil Engineering and Dean’s Executive for Design and Construction at West Point speaking on French Volunteer Officers on the Service of the US Military and it’s (then) new Academy at West Point.  Suzanne DiGeronimo spoke about the Chief of Engineers Stephen Rochefontaine.  Many dignitaries were in attendance. The distinguished group proceeded to the grave of Rochefontain to lay a wreath. Frederic Vigneron noted plaques that were placed in 1955 by the French and SAME who cooperated at that time to restore the monument, celebrating the continuing cooperation between these two countries and their engineering societies. BG Roland Margueritte Military Advisor, Head of the Military Mission Permanent Mission of France to the United Nations spoke on the Military Alliance of the French Republic and the US, noting that the two nations have never been at war against each other. Major Nicolas Franchitti US Army Department of Foreign Languages West Point brought three cadets from West Point, military exchange students from France.  Pictured (Right) are three French exchange students with Suzanne DiGeronimo.
